The doctor's Tuesday visit
Notes from the morning a doctor sits in the common room and sees whoever needs to be seen.

The doctor arrives after breakfast. A staff member has already written a short list: who has new pain, whose cough has lasted, who has not been eating. The list is a guide, not a gate. Anyone who asks to be seen is seen.
Most conversations are quiet. A blood pressure cuff, a look at the ankles, a question about sleep. Medicine is changed only when it needs to be, and the new dose is written where the night staff will find it.
If someone must go to hospital, a member of staff goes with them. The resident is not handed to a taxi alone. That is the rule, and the visit fund is what makes the rule possible.
